Cryptonight and the Museum of Neon Art present keyboardist David Witham and violinist Jeff Gauthier in an evening of electronic and acoustic creative music. On
September 5 at 8PM, Witham and Gauthier will take inspiration from MONA's extensive collection of rare and unusual neon art, and use it as a musical launching pad for electronic and acoustic duo-improvisations. Join Gauthier and Witham with this month's special guest Norton Wisdom, Nels Cline and Andrew Pask as they create musical soundscapes inspired by neon art.

The concert will take place at the Museum of Neon Art in Downtown LA's burgeoning arts district.  Parking is available on the street, and in adjacent parking lots.  Tickets are $10 at the door.

Performance painter Norton Wisdom works with musical ensembles and spontaneously paints images that capture the essence of the moment.  He has exhibited and been colleced by museums and galleries around the world. You must see this unique and original artist perform live with band to appreciate his talent.

Nels Cline

is one of the most versatile, imagnitive and original guitarists active today. Combining breathtaking technique with an informed musical intelligence, Cline displays a mastery of guitar expression that encompasses delicate lyricism, sonic abstractions, and skull crunching flights of fancy, inspiring Jazz Times to call him "The World's Most Dangerous Guitarist" and Rolling Stone Magazine to name him one of 15 "Guitar Gods."

Jeff Gauthier was voted a "Rising Star" in the 2007 Down Beat's Jazz Critic's poll as both violinist and producer. He has performed and recorded with Yusef Lateef & Adam Rudolph, The Alex Cline Ensemble, The Vinny Golia Large Ensemble, and has also performed with the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, Los Angeles Opera, Long Beach Symphony.

David Witham has toured and recorded with artists such as George Benson, Michael and Randy Brecker, Patti Austin, k.d. lang, Jose Feliciano, Eddie Harris, Charles McPherson, and Joao Bosco, to name only a few.

Andrew Pask has spent most of his life playing clarinets and saxophones in variously unconnected situations. Originally from New Zealand, Andrew studied classical clarinet playing and sang in early music choirs before
spending 6 and a half years based in Hong Kong as a jazz saxophone player. He now lives in Los Angeles where he divides his time between playing, composing and creating audio software.
